Some folks shy away from pizza because it can have a lot of salt and fat in it, but it’s not all bad. Melbourne pizza eaters will be happy to hear that there also some great health benefits of pizza.
Health Benefits Of Pizza
Nutrition research conducted in Europe studied the eating habits of people with cancer. It indicated that people who were eating pizza at least once a week were less likely to develop certain cancers such as mouth, esophageal, throat, and colon cancer.
“We knew that tomato sauce could offer protection against certain tumors, but we did not expect pizza as a complete meal also to offer such protective powers.” Nicola O’Connor, of Cancer Research UK, told BBC News Online; “This study is interesting and the results should probably be looked at in the context of what we already know about the Mediterranean diet and its association with a lower risk of certain types of cancer.”
It is theorized that Lycopene, an antioxidant found in tomatoes, helps a person to protect against developing cancer. This is great news for all those pizza connoisseurs out there.
Pizza In Moderation
Don’t feel like this news gives you free license to start eating pizza seven days a week. The classic Italian pizza was used in the research, but some pizzas are loaded with saturated fats and salts.
Why would the folks at Melbourne Pizza Delivery, who make their living delivering scrumptious pizza pies, say something that may dissuade people from eating pizza? Well, we care about your health just as much as you do.
We also know how delicious pizza is, and know that, like anything else, if eaten in moderation you can still enjoy pizza with your family and friends, and hopefully capitalise on some of the excellent health benefits of pizza as well.

The great thing about Pizza is that there are multiple benefits. Onions are rich in vitamin C, and fiber. Olives help ward off heart disease and lower cholesterol. Most peppers are full of Vitamin C, B6.
As with most things, moderation is key!

I agree that pizza has many health benefits. As I state in my blog, chiropam.com that the Superfoods like tomatoes and garlic can be highly beneficial. I eat homemade pizza at least once per week, but use gluten-free and wheat-free base. The more superfoods on the pizza as toppings, the better!
Great advice, ChiroPam
Pizza Rocks!
What a good news for pizza lovers !

A lot of places sell gourmet pizzas now, you have to pay a premium but they sure look healthy with pumpkin and spinach and all those things I used to turn my nose up at when I was a child while my parents would say, “come on, eat up, it’s good for you”. I actually like all that stuff now.

Hi friends
I really love cooking of various unusual meals. I had luck to find really great and unusual recipes at http://www.wrightstores.us. This company is selling special REMOSCA Cookers. It’s the great device for cooking wide variety of great meals. These cookers are perfect for outdoor cooking too. I am using one in my truck since they have pretty low power consumption. These cookers can be cleaned very easily.
Anyway they are selling a lot of truly wonderful items too.
Have a great day.

We’re big fans of pizza at our house, but we’re also health conscious. As Chiropam says, garlic is a wonderful ‘health supplement’, and I’d have to say onions are too. In other words, I totally agree: minimize or eliminate the saturated fat and add in some “super foods” like tomato, garlic, onion, and so on, and pizza rocks!
That’s great! I do love pizza.
